Before this, Snapdragon chipset is used in some previous versions of Windows-based smartphones, such as QSD8250 Qualcomm chipset that is used by mobile phones and HTC HTC HD2 HD7.
However, now Qualcomm has provided a large amount of investment in optimizing the chipset platform for Windows Phone 7. During this time, the chipset-Snapdragon chipset is commonly used by the handset’s Android-based handset. Some famous Android phones, like Google Nexus One, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Acer Stream / Liquid, or HTC Desire also use Snapdragon chipsets.
The presence of Snapdragon in Windows 7 Phone might enlarge the market share of Qualcomm chipsets to compete with Nvidia’s Tegra chipset, Texas Instruments OMAP 4, A4 used the iPhone, and Marvell chipsets that use Blackberry.
According to research firm IDC, Microsoft still has a market share of 6.4 percent of the smartphone, the smallest among Symbian (42.7 percent), BlackBerry (17.6 percent), Android (15.8 percent), and the IOS (13.3 percent.)
